Using the NHS App for Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat Prescriptions

Requests can be posted in the surgery letterboxes. If a SAE is provided the prescription will be posted to you.  From June 2022 we will no longer be accepting prescription requests by e-mail, please use Patient Access or the NHS APP to order your repeat prescription.

Alternatively you can order online via the link at the top of this page. Please note, new users are required to register prior to using this service.

We do not accept telephone requests – except for housebound patients and exceptional circumstances.

Prescriptions can be collected from the surgery or sent ‘paperless’ directly to a chosen chemist. Paperless prescriptions are called EPS

What is The Electronic Prescription Service?

The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is a new NHS service that allows your GP to send your prescription(s) directly to your chosen pharmacy. This means that you can choose to have a paper-free prescription.

Who is it for?

Electronic prescriptions will be of particular benefit if:

  • You have a repeat prescription and don’t want to collect it from your GP every time
  • You collect your medicines from the same place most of the time
  • You use a repeat prescription service

3 reasons to use Electronic Prescriptions

1. You can choose a pharmacy that suits you

2. Less trips to your GP to collect repeat prescriptions

3. Free service

Just let reception know who you would like your chosen chemist to be. It can be changed at any time – both turned off or to another chemist. Please be aware that although the prescription is sent immediately to the chemist electronically the chemist needs to refresh his system to receive it.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.
